Boc-Lys(Ac)-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for Histone Deacetylases (HDAC). HDAC deacetylates the substrate and the product (Boc-Lys-AMC) is treated with trypsin releasing fluorescent AMC.
Activity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380 nm and emits at 440-460 nm.
