Gamma Secretase Inhibitor, sequence Z-Leu-Leu-Nle-CHO (Z-Leu-Leu-Nle-al), is a leupeptin analog which inhibits gamma secretase. Gamma secretase is a membrane associated protein complex consisting of presenilin, nicastrin, Aph-1, and Pen-2. It catalyzes the cleavage of Notch and Beta Amyloid proteins and is implicated in Alzheimer’s disease.
